Ace

As they are more likely to be found in the front lines of combat, wildcards put a greater amount of stock in knowing the nature of one’s enemy. Those who take this to an extreme are known as aces.

Aces have the following class features:

Sight Beyond Sight (Sp): At 1st level, an ace chooses Good, Evil, Lawful, or Chaotic. She gains the ability to use detect evil at will, as the spell; however, this ability detects the chosen alignment rather than simply Evil.

An ace can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is the alignment chosen at 1st level, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the ace does not detect alignment in any other object or individual within range.

At 6th level and 18th level, choose an alignment the ace has not chosen previously. Sight beyond sight now simultaneously detects that alignment, in addition to all previously-selected alignments.

Starting at 12th level, the ace also simultaneously detects magic as the detect magic spell.

This ability replaces martial insight.

Touch Beyond Touch (Su): At 6th level, an ace learns how to trick magic items with divinatory features. Whenever she replenishes her fate pool for the day, she may choose a magic item in her possession, then choose an alignment. The magic item treats the ace as though her alignment were the chosen alignment rather than her native alignment. Whenever she replenishes her fate pool for the day, the ace may choose to maintain her trickery or to cease feeding a particular magic item a false alignment so that she may trick another magic item.

Artifacts and other extremely powerful items cannot be fooled by touch beyond touch.

An ace may “trick” up to one magic item at a time at 6th level, increasing to up to two magic items at a time at 18th level. She may choose a different alignment for each magic item she tricks.

Identity Beyond Identity (Su): At 14th level, an ace automatically succeeds on all Spellcraft checks made to identify spells targeting or affecting her that have variable effects based on the alignment of the target. Once per day as an immediate action, the ace may choose an alignment in response to being targeted or affected by such a spell. That spell treats the ace as though her alignment were the chosen alignment rather than her native alignment. This remains in effect for the full duration of the spell against which she uses this ability.

This ability replaces the seal gained at 14th level.
