Known for their unparalleled control over their body and physiological responses, the monks called adamant disciples undergo intense training to be as resilient as possible. Adamant disciples are known to be able to withstand the deadliest of blows, or to shrug off physical attacks that would normally bring others to their knees.

Trade Tradition

If this is this character’s first level in any class, the adamant disciple may select a trade tradition of his choice, and have a competent trade rank.

This replaces the monk’s normal class skills.

Inner Tranquility

The adamant disciple gains the Body Control sphere as a bonus sphere at 1st level. Whenever the adamant disciple adopts its meditate approach, he may spend 1 ki point to add an additional (control) talent to the meditate approach.

At 6th level, while the adamant disciple is maintaining the meditate approach, if he succeeds at a Fortitude or Will saving throw against an attack that has a reduced effect on a successful save, he instead avoids the effect entirely.

At 10th level, while the adamant disciple is maintaining the meditate approach, he gains DR 1/-, which increases by 1 for every 3 monk levels beyond 10th he possesses. This stacks with similar damage reduction. The adamant disciple can spend 1 point from his ki pool as a swift action to double this damage reduction until the beginning of his next turn.

This replaces stunning fist and the ki power gained at 10th level.

Tireless Resolve (Ex)

At 6th level, whenever the adamant disciple would gain the dazed, exhausted, nauseated, paralyzed, staggered, or stunned condition, the duration of the effect is reduced to 1 round. Whenever the adamant disciple ends his turn with a disorientation condition, the condition is reduced by one step. If the source of the condition possessed at least 4 more Hit Dice than the adamant soul’s monk level, the duration of the effect is instead halved (minimum 1 round).

This replaces the ki power gained at 6th level.

Still Body (Ex)

At 4th level, while the adamant disciple is maintaining the meditate approach from the Body Control sphere, he can attempt to endure against pain, poison, and polymorph effects.

This replaces still mind, but may be replaced by other archetypes.

Relentless Defiance (Ex)

At 14th level, the adamant disciple adds his monk level to his Constitution score when determining the number of hit points he can be reduced to below 0 without dying and never takes damage for acting while disabled. When he is reduced to a negative hit point total, he can choose to ignore the effects of the dying condition and act as if disabled instead (he falls unconscious normally if he does not choose to ignore the dying condition). This feature counts as the Diehard feat for meeting prerequisites.

This replaces the ki power gained at 14th level.

Adamantine Mind and Soul (Ex)

At 18th level, the adamant disciple becomes immune to death effects, nonlethal damage, and to ability damage and ability drain. Additionally, while the adamant disciple is maintaining the meditate approach, he becomes immune to the extra damage from critical hits and precision damage.

This replaces the ki power gained at 18th level.
