Apastra (singular Apastron) seek to wield the powers of separate extremes simultaneously, receiving only glimpses of clarity as to how the two opposite ambitions can be reconciled.

Sequence of Reconciliation (Ex)

At 1st level, the apastra gains the sequence and integrated techniques class features of a prodigy of her dissident level, save that she does not possess the ability to use any of the prodigy’s basic finishers. The apastra’s degree of attunement is dependent on the number of links in her sequence.

  • If the apastra has three or fewer links in her current sequence, she is considered balanced
  • If the apastra has four or five links in her current sequence, she is considered weakly attuned to both sides of her struggle
  • If the apastra has six or seven links in her current sequence, she is considered moderately attuned to both sides of her struggle
  • If the apastra has eight or more links in her current sequence, she is considered strongly attuned to both sides of her struggle

The apastra cannot gain attunement to either side of their struggle from any source besides her sequence, but can gain attunement to both sides of her struggle at once.

This modifies struggle

Unified Clarity (Ex)

At 3rd level, the apastron selects a single sphere or talent she qualifies for. As long as the apastron has four or more links in her current struggle, she gains the chosen sphere or talent as a bonus talent.

At 7th level, the apastron selects an additional sphere or talent which she gains as long as she has five or more links in her current sequence.

At 11th level, the apastron selects an additional sphere or talent which she gains as long as she has six or more links in her current sequence.

At 15th level, the apastron selects an additional sphere or talent which she gains as long as she has seven or more links in her current sequence.

At 19th level, the apastron selects an additional sphere or talent which she gains as long as she has eight or more links in her current sequence.

This replaces divided skill set

Unbroken Sequence (Ex)

At 10th level, when the apastron’s sequence would be ended by the dazed, helpless, paralyzed, stunned, or unconscious conditions, she may expend martial focus to prevent the sequence from ending due to that condition for a number of rounds equal to her practitioner modifier.

This replaces commit to change

Glimpse of Totality (Ex)

At 13th level, if the apastron has at least 8 links in her sequence, she may spend a free action as a (finish) to become completely attuned to both sides of her struggle for 1 round + an additional round for each link in her sequence beyond the 8th.

Flawless Sequence (Ex)

At 14th level, the apastron does not lose a link in her sequence if she fails to add a link since the beginning of her previous turn and no longer needs to expend martial focus to prevent her sequence ending from the dazed, helpless, paralyzed, stunned, or unconscious conditions. Using a (finish) still ends the sequence as normal.

At 17th level, the apastron does not lose a link in her sequence if she fails to add a link since the beginning of the turn before her previous turn.

At 20th level, the apastron does not lose a link in her sequence if she fails to add a link in the last three turns.

This replaces dire switch

Paradigm Escalation (Ex)

At 16th level, when the apastron uses confront motives, she begins her next combat with two additional links in her sequence. The apastron cannot shift attunement when using confront motives.

This modifies paradigm shift

Apastratic Awakening (Ex)

At 20th level, whenever the apastron starts a sequence, it automatically begins with a number of links equal to half her casting ability modifier.

Additionally, whenever the apastron is completely attuned to her struggles, she gains unique benefits as listed in her strife.

Lastly, whenever the apastron is balanced in her struggle, she gains fast healing 5, and a +2 bonus to her caster level and base attack bonus when determining the effects of her combat sphere abilities (this base attack bonus increase cannot cause her base attack bonus to exceed her Hit Dice). Her pool of skill leverage also increases by 2.

This replaces strife mastery
