Instead of being broadly versed in the art of creation, these blacksmiths focus on specific methods of artifice, and are able to get more out of their creations than most.
Trade Tradition
If this is the character’s first level in any class, the blacksmith can choose a trade tradition instead of his usual class skills. His trade rank is competent.
Blended Training
Whenever an artificer would gain a combat talent from his class levels, he may instead choose to gain a skill talent. An artificer uses his practitioner modifier as his operative ability modifier.
This alters combat training. This archetype may be combined with other archetypes that replace combat training.
Artifice Specialist
At 1st level, the artificer can replace the equipment specialist class feature to gain the Artifice sphere as a bonus skill sphere, as well as allowing him to use Profession (blacksmith) as the associated skill for the (fabrication) and (gear) Artifice sphere packages.
This (optionally) replaces equipment specialist.
Efficient Additions
In addition to the normal options granted by the artificer when using maintenance, he gains the following option:
- Temporary Alterations: The artificer chooses a single Artifice sphere flourish he possesses; the artificer applies the chosen flourish to a single piece of equipment that the ally possesses, which does not count towards the maximum number of flourishes that the object can possess.
Artifice Savant
At 3rd level, the artificer can apply an additional flourish to an object, or an additional function to a trinket he creates.
At 5th level, the artificer gains the unchained skill unlocks (Pathfinder Unchained) for the Craft skill as appropriate for his number of ranks in that skill. Additionally, he gains a bonus skill talent from the Artifice sphere, which can be changed to another talent from the Artifice sphere with 8 hours of rest. This talent cannot be a (flourish) or [utility] talent.
This replaces artisan savant.
Remarkable Armament (Ex)
At 3rd level, the artificer can spend 8 hours using artisan’s tools altering a set of armor, shield, or weapon to perfectly tailor it to his style and requirements, making it remarkable. This functions as the Exquisite Equipment exceptional talent, except that it is not a flourish, and it uses his blacksmith level instead of his associated ranks when determining the talent's effects.
The artificer can only have a single piece of equipment altered in this way, and such an item grants no benefits to other creatures who use it.
This replaces reforge.
