Driven by the thrill of combat, battle-born are natural leaders, inspiring their allies to join them in the rush of battle.

Base Attack Bonus: A battle-born gains base attack bonus equal to a conscript of her class level.

This alters base attack bonus.

Hit Dice: A battle-born uses d10 for her Hit Die.

This alters Hit Dice.

Combat Training: A battle-born may combine combat spheres and talents to create powerful martial techniques. Battle-born are considered Expert combatants. When they gain their first level in the battle-born archetype, battle-born may choose either Charisma, Intelligence or Wisdom as their practitioner modifier.

This replaces blended training and removes casting and spell pool. The battle-born does not gain the casting class feature nor a spell point pool. She may not take magic talents with the talents granted by her class levels. She still treats her class levels as casting class levels for determining magic skill bonus for use with her reflect spell ability. Any ability that requires resting to regain spell points functions off any rest that would be sufficient to regain spell points (usually 8 hours), even though none are granted by the class.

Battle-leader’s Sequence (Ex): At 2nd level, all allies within close range (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 class levels) gain the benefits of the battle-born’s inspired sequence ability.

Allied creatures within close range (25 feet + 5 feet per 2 class levels) that can see or hear the battle-born gain the ability to initiate and add links to the battle-born’s sequence, including the use of her integrated techniques (the battle-born does not have to possess the sphere; though the allied creature does). The battle-born’s sequence may only be increased by 1 link per action type each round (counting full-round actions and standard actions as the same type for this purpose).

The battle-born may initiate finishers through her allies. She may spend the requisite action cost to allow an ally currently benefiting from her inspired sequence to perform the finisher as an immediate action. Finishers that grant an ability that is triggered by a subsequent action (such as the executioner finisher applying to the next attack) apply when the target next meets the triggering condition before the end of their next turn. The battle-born can initiate a new sequence before this action has been taken. The battle-born must be capable of acting to initiate a finisher through an ally.

This replaces imbue sequence.

Martial Adaptation (Ex): At 2nd level, the battle born may gain combat talents from spheres she possesses and combat feats for which she qualifies with her adaptation ability. She may not gain magic talents.

This alters adaptation, improved adaptation, greater adaptation, share adaptation, master adaptation, grandmaster adaptation, and perfect prodigy.

Naturally Variable Skill: At 11th level, a number of times per day equal to her practitioner ability modifier, the battle-born may spend a full-round action to change the skill selected for steady skill. The prodigy does not gain additional uses of her ability to take 15 when switching skills.

This alters variable skill.
