Proficiencies: Beast benders are proficient with simple weapons, as well as light armor and bucklers. In addition, if this is this character’s first level in any class, they may select a martial tradition of their choice.
This alters weapon and armor proficiencies.
Casting: The beast bender may combine spheres and talents to create magical effects. The beast bender is considered a Mid-Caster and uses Wisdom as her casting ability modifier. (Note: All casters gain 2 bonus talents and may select a casting tradition the first time they gain the casting class feature.)
This replaces the spells class feature.
Spell Pool: The beast bender gains a small reservoir of energy she can call on to create truly wondrous effects, called a spell pool. This pool contains a number of spell points equal to her class level + her casting ability modifier. This pool replenishes once per day after roughly 8 hours of rest.
Blended Training: A beast bender gains a combat or magic talent every time she gains a class level. Beast benders use their casting ability modifier as their practitioner modifier.
This replaces track, swift tracker, and one with the wild.
Alter Beast: The beast bender gains the Alteration and Beastmastery spheres as bonus talents. If she already possesses either sphere, she gains a bonus talent from that sphere in its place. She must select the (handle animal) package of the Beastmastery sphere if gaining the sphere for the first time or gain it via taking the Extra Beastmastery Package talent with her bonus talent if it is not already possessed. She treats her class level as her caster level when applying shapeshift to her animal allies. This stacks normally with caster levels gained from other sources.
This replaces animal focus and second animal focus.
Rapid Alteration: When applying shapeshift to her animal allies, and only her animal allies, the casting time becomes a move action. The beast bender may concentrate on a shapeshift affecting only her animal allies as a move action.
This replaces wild empathy.
Pack Tactics (Ex): At 3rd level, the beast bender automatically grants her teamwork feats to up to 1 + her casting ability modifier (minimum 2 creatures) animal allies that are under the effects of her shapeshift. They do not need to meet the prerequisites of the shared feats. The selected animal allies may be changed as a swift action.
This replaces hunter tactics.
Morph Master: At 20th level, when the beast bender applies shapeshift to her animal allies, the effect is extraordinary and the duration becomes permanent.
This replaces master hunter.
U: Part of Ultimate Spheres of Power and does not need to be bought separately from that book
