Bard’s Training
A beast piper uses their casting ability modifier in place of their Charisma modifier for any bard class features (including bardic performance).
Pets, Beasts, and Companions (Ex)
At 1st level, the beast piper gains the Beastmastery sphere as a bonus talent and must choose the (handle animal) package. If he already possesses the Beastmastery sphere, but not the (handle animal) package, he gains Extra Beastmastery Package and must choose the (handle animal) package. The beast piper cannot select a drawback which removes the (handle animal) package or tame ability, and if he possesses a drawback which removes the (handle animal) package or tame ability, he must buy back that drawback with the bonus talent granted by this class feature.
At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the beast piper gains a Beastmastery sphere talent as a bonus talent.
This replaces bardic knowledge.
Undeterred Loyalty (Ex)
At 2nd level, the beast piper and his animal allies become more resistant to outside influences. The beast piper and his animal allies gain a +2 bonus on saving throws made against mind-affecting effects; this bonus increases to +4 against effects which would compel the beast piper’s animal allies to act against the beast piper (such as an opposed Beastmastery sphere tame ability or the dominate animal spell).
This replaces well-versed.
Wildsong Troubadour
At 2nd level, the beast piper may use his bonus in any Perform skill in place of his bonus in Handle Animal or Ride, as though he chose a versatile performance with Handle Animal and Ride as associated skills.
If the beast piper later gains a versatile performance with Handle Animal or Ride as associated skills, he gains a +3 bonus on those Perform checks made in place of a Handle Animal or Ride check (such as later choosing Perform (wind), which has Handle Animal as an associated skill normally).
This replaces versatile performance; the beast piper is still treated as possessing the versatile performance class feature for the purposes of prerequisites and other abilities, but does not gain new versatile performance options.
Wildfriend Symphony (Su)
At 3rd level, the beast piper gains the wildfriend pastorale bardic masterpiece, even if the beast piper does not meet the prerequisites for this bardic masterpiece.
At 7th level, when the beast piper uses the wildfriend pastorale bardic masterpiece, the beast piper may call for any type of creature he could tame with the Beastmastery sphere, not just creatures with the animal type.
At 12th level, the beast piper may change the wildfriend pastorale bardic masterpiece’s duration to permanent, allowing the beast piper to have a creature called by this effect to remain indefinitely. The wildfriend pastorale bardic masterpiece still ends immediately if the beast piper uses the masterpiece again while a creature is called by its effects.
At 17th level, the beast piper may use the wildfriend pastorale bardic masterpiece to call for magical beasts, even if he could not tame a magical beast.
Lead With A Tune (Su)
At 5th level, any creature the beast piper could tame with his Beastmastery sphere tame ability suffers a -1 penalty on saving throws made against the beast piper’s bardic performances or bardic masterpieces. This penalty increases by -1 at 10th level and every 5 levels thereafter.
At 10th level, if the beast piper possesses the appropriate Beastmastery sphere (handle animal) talents to tame a creature, the beast piper can affect that creature with any of his bardic performances or bardic masterpieces, bypassing any immunities or defensive traits that creature possesses that would ordinarily prevent that creature from being affected.
This replaces lore master.
Example: If the beast piper possesses the Bee Keeper talent, he can grant the effects of his inspire courage bardic performance to a tamed swarm or target any swarm with the suggestion bardic performance, despite a swarm normally being immune.
