Those who walk the path of the beastsoul channel their affinity to the wilds or their long forgotten heritages, taking forms with which to display their training, discipline, and might.
Bestial Form (Su)
At 1st level, the beastsoul monk gains the Transformation feat as a bonus feat. The action required to shift between his natural form and form chosen with Transformation is reduced by 1 step (full-round action to standard action; if the beastsoul monk possesses the Improved Transformation feat, this is reduced from a swift action to a free action. The beastsoul monk may only shift between forms once per round).
This replaces stunning fist.
Special: If the beastsoul monk possesses the monk bonus feats class feature, he adds Transformation, Hybrid Transformation, and Improved Transformation to the list of bonus feats. This does not alter or replace monk bonus feats for the purposes of archetype compatibility.
Natural Flurry (Ex)
At 1st level, the beastsoul monk may treat one natural attack per monk level he possesses as an unarmed strike for interactions with feats, combat and magic talents, class abilities, and other effects which have Improved Unarmed Strike as a prerequisite or which augment an unarmed strike. At the start of each turn before making any attacks, the beastsoul monk must choose which natural attacks he possesses to treat as unarmed strikes for that round.
If the beastsoul monk possesses the flurry of blows class feature, the beastsoul monk may use his natural attacks in place of attacks granted by his flurry of blows class feature. When making a flurry of blows, the beastsoul treats his natural attacks as primary natural attacks (suffering no attack roll penalty and using his full Strength modifier when determining the damage dealt).
Beastsoul Ki
At 4th level, the beastsoul monk uses his beastsoul monk level as his caster level, but only for Alteration sphere effects that exclusively target himself.
The beastsoul monk may spend ki points in place of spell points for Alteration sphere effects; sphere effects are not ki abilities for the purposes of items, feats, and other interactions.
Ki Shifting
A beastsoul monk may select the Basic Magic Training or Extra Magic Talent feats for the Alteration sphere in place of any of the following monk class abilities: slow fall (4th), high jump (5th), wholeness of body (7th), diamond body (11th), abundant step (12th), diamond soul (13th), quivering palm (15th), timeless body (17th), tongue of the sun and moon (17th), empty body (19th), and perfect self (20th).
This replaces the monk class ability the beastsoul monk gives up for an Alteration sphere talent gained through the Basic Magic Training or Extra Magic Talent feats.
Unchained Monk
An unchained monk with this archetype makes the following adjustments to the following class features granted by this archetype:
Natural Flurry
An unchained beastsoul monk may use any of his natural attacks as though it were the appropriate limb when performing a style strike.
This is in addition to the natural flurry class feature’s other effects.
Ki Shifting
An unchained beastsoul monk may select the Basic Magic Training feat for the Alteration sphere as a ki power. The extra magic talent ki power (Ultimate Spheres of Power pg. 175) may be chosen normally.
This replaces the ki shifting class feature’s normal effects.
