Dealer (Wildcard)

Once a connection is made to the fate of all things, the ability to manipulate it is purely instinctual, though the magnitude of one's ability to manipulate causality is indeed a function of one's affinity with the process as a whole. Nevertheless, a connection, any connection, guarantees some level of instant skill in the realm of cartomancy. Wildcards who capitalize on this truth and pass around their powers to anyone who will reach out and grab them are known as dealers.

Dealers have the following class features:

Ante Up (Su): At 1st level, whenever the dealer plays a least portent, he may choose not to cast it. If he does not, place it face-up in front of the player of a willing creature within range instead. The willing creature may play the face-up card as though it had a wildcard level equal to the lesser of its Hit Dice or the dealer's class level. When played, the portent goes to the dealer's discard pile. If not played within 1 minute per dealer level, it goes to the dealer's discard pile immediately. Up to two least portents may be placed in front of willing creatures at a time with this ability, increasing by +1 at 5th level and every five levels thereafter, for a maximum of six least portents at 20th level.

This ability replaces dealt fate and fateseal.

Dealer's Boon (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, whenever the dealer places a portent face-up in front of the player of a willing creature with the ante up ability, he gains a morale bonus to damage rolls equal to the current number of face-up portents he has placed in front of players with the ante up ability. This bonus lasts for 1 round.

Redeal (Su): Starting at 2nd level, whenever the dealer plays a lesser portent, he may choose a single least portent in his discard pile as a swift action. If he does, he does not shuffle the chosen portent back into his active deck, but rather places it face-up in front of a willing creature within 30 feet instead. This face-up card is treated as though it were placed there by the ante up ability.

The dealer may not use this ability if it he would exceed the ante up ability's maximum number of simultaneous face-up portents through its use.

Excessive Redeal (Su): At 20th level, whenever the dealer plays a greater portent, he may choose any number of least portents in his discard pile as a swift action. If he does, he places them face-up in front of willing creatures within 60 feet instead. These face-up cards are treated as though they were placed there by the ante up ability.

The dealer may not use this ability if it he would exceed the ante up ability's maximum number of simultaneous face-up portents through its use.

This ability replaces eternal fate.
