A fabled blade is known throughout the lands they inhabit (and beyond) for their unique style of fighting. These samurai do not typically carry heraldry, usually having some other identifier that is tied to their unique weapon style, such as a painted scabbard or set of armor, a unique depiction of art on their armor, etc.

Trade Tradition

If this is this character’s first level in any class, the fabled blade may select a trade tradition of his choice, and have a competent trade rank.

This replaces the samurai’s normal class skills.

Famed Weapon Style (Ex)

At 1st level, the fabled blade’s unique style of using his weapon has become so renowned that the style itself precedes his own renown. The fabled blade chooses one of the following weapon styles, which grant additional benefits at 5th and 14th level.

This replaces mount, banner, and greater banner.

Mountain Body Style

At 1st level, the fabled blade gains the Body Control sphere as a bonus sphere.

At 5th level, the fabled blade’s meditate approach can be used to endure a failed Fortitude or Will save (provided he succeeds at an Escape Artist check). While he maintains the meditate approach, he adds his ranks in Escape Artist to his Constitution score when determining when he dies due to being at a negative hit point total.

At 14th level, whenever the fabled blade makes an honorable stand against a creature, he gains the benefits of the stalwart class ability (as the courser ability of the same name).

Roaring Steel Style

At 1st level, the fabled blade gains the Bluster sphere as a bonus sphere, but must choose Frightening Threat as the bonus (quip) talent he gains when he first gains the Bluster sphere.

At 5th level, a creature who is suffering from a fear effect inflicted by the fabled blade (such as from demoralizing) removes any DC or saving throw adjustments against the fabled blade’s quips for as long as they suffer from the fear condition (this also applies to any quips used against the creature after the fear effect was applied).

At 14th level, as long as a creature can see the fabled blade wielding a weapon, they lose any immunity to fear that they possess. Additionally, whenever the fabled blade confirms a critical hit against a creature, he can attempt to demoralize the creature or use a quip against the creature as a swift or immediate action.

Gilded Poet Style

At 1st level, the fabled blade gains the Performance sphere as a bonus sphere, and must choose the (lyric) package.

At 5th level, whenever the fabled blade uses an inspiring lyric on an ally, he can also spend one use of his resolve to allow the ally to spend the use of resolve as if they were the fabled blade.

At 14th level, whenever the fabled blade successfully damages a creature with a weapon or challenges a creature, he can use a lyric against the creature as a swift action.
