Fairy Godmother

While all guides try and be supportive towards the heroes they serve, some guides take things a step further and dedicate their lives to a single downtrodden soul. These guides sacrifice their impersonal bauble form to retain their powers with a friendlier face to serve their wards. These fairy godmothers tap deeper into the divine essence of the Storyteller to help ensure a happy ending.

Spellcasting: A fairy godmother casts divine spells drawn from the cleric spell list. A fairy godmother must choose and prepare her spells in advance. A fairy godmother’s highest level of spells is 6th. Cleric spells of 7th level and above cannot be cast by a fairy godmother. A fairy godmother knows all spells on the cleric’s spell list she has access to. To prepare or cast a spell, a fairy godmother must have a Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell’s level. The saving throw DC against a fairy godmother’s spell is 10 + the spell’s level + the fairy godmother’s Charisma modifier. Like other spellcasters, a fairy godmother can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is given on Table 28-1: Fairy Godmother Spells per Day. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she had a high Charisma score.

This ability replaces bauble form and interactions.

Fairy Healing (Su): The fairy godmother gains the healing light ability at 1st level instead of 3rd. However the ability now uses a d8 in the place of a d6. In addition, she is not required to be in bauble form to use the ability.

This ability replaces charm of protection.

Fairy Guard (Su): At 2nd level, when wearing light or no armor and not using a shield, a fairy godmother adds 1 point of Charisma bonus (if any) per fairy godmother level as a dodge bonus to her Armor Class. If a fairy godmother is caught flat-footed or otherwise denied her Dexterity bonus, she also loses this bonus.

Interactions (Sp): At 2nd level, the fairy godmother gains an interaction. The fairy godmother gains an additional interaction at 5th level, and every 4 levels after that. She must have the appropriate level to select an interaction. She may use these interactions while outside of bauble form.

This ability replaces ray of light and shell enhancements.

Godmother’s Wings (Su): At 12th level, the fairy godmother sprouts fine butterfly wings, granting her a fly speed equal to her land speed, with good maneuverability.

This ability replaces the upgrade to etheric aura at 12th level.
