Greensprout Rapscallion (Prestige Class)

Greensprout Rapscallions are the followers of Tommy Greensprout, a spirit devoted to the ideas of eternal youth and life. Of course, the innocence and freedom of childhood aren't necessarily safe for others…

Class Skills: The greensprout rapscallion’s class skills (and the key ability scores for each) are Acrobatics (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Fly (Dex), Perception (Wis), Stealth (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis), and Survival (Wis).

Skill Points per Level: 6 + Int.

Requirements

To qualify to become a greensprout rapscallion, a character must meet the following criteria.

Binding: Able to bind 3rd level spirits.

Feats: Flexible Pactmaking, Permanent Pact (Tommy Greensprout), Spirit Focus (Tommy Greensprout).

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A greensprout rapscallion gains no new proficiencies with weapons or armor.

Bind Spirit

Levels in the greensprout rapscallion class stack with the character’s binder level for all purposes, including binding checks, calculating the effectiveness of granted abilities, and determining the character’s maximum spirit level.

AC Bonus

A greensprout rapscallion is able to use his childlike charms and small size in order to make it more difficult to strike him in combat. When unarmored and unencumbered, the greensprout rapscallion adds his Charisma bonus (if any) to his AC and CMD. In addition, the greensprout rapscallion gains a +1 bonus to AC and CMD at 4th level, increasing to +2 at 8th level. These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the greensprout rapscallion is flat-footed. He loses these bonuses when he is immobilized or helpless, when he wears armor or carries a heavy shield or tower shield, or when he carries a medium or heavy load.

Greensprout Pact

A greensprout rapscallion’s permanent pact with Tommy Greensprout is more restrictive than most; Tommy Greensprout insists that the greensprout rapscallion indulge heavily in the gift of youth and never allow his body to return to its adult form if able. A greensprout rapscallion cannot suppress the forever young granted ability.

In addition, upon taking his first level in the prestige class, the greensprout rapscallion may choose to have his age category set to Child instead of Youth by the forever young granted ability, shifting his age both mentally and physically and treating him as a Child for all effects related to age instead of a Youth. His appearance is that of his own as a Child and he gains a +10 racial bonus on Disguise checks made to pose as a Child. Once this decision is made, it cannot be changed (except by the shades of youth greensprout trick).

Sprout Pool (Su)

While a greensprout rapscallion is bound to Tommy Greensprout, he gains a reserve of power fueled by the magic of childhood called a sprout pool. A greensprout rapscallion’s sprout pool possesses a number of points equal to his level + his Charisma modifier (minimum 1). By spending 1 point from his sprout pool, a greensprout rapscallion can grant himself a +30 foot enhancement bonus to his land speed and fly speed (if any) for 1 round. Alternatively, a he may spend 1 point to grant himself a +4 dodge bonus to his AC for 1 round. As a greensprout rapscallion’s bond with Tommy Greensprout grows, he gains additional powers to spend his sprout points on.

Greensprout Trick

At 2nd level and every two levels thereafter, a greensprout rapscallion learns an additional trick that takes advantage of his youth and his bond with Tommy Greensprout. A greensprout rapscallion cannot select the same trick more than once unless otherwise specified.

Childhood Bliss (Su)

When a greensprout rapscallion with this trick makes a successful steal attempt using Tommy Greensprout’s age swipe granted ability, the target’s attitude towards you changes to friendly and it is able to recall all memories from its childhood that it experienced with perfect clarity. A successful Will save prevents these effects (DC 10 + 1/2 your binder level + your Charisma modifier).

Childish Tricks (Ex)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick selects one of the following combat maneuvers: disarm, grapple, or trip. The greensprout rapscallion may use his binder level in place of his base attack bonus on combat maneuver checks with the selected combat maneuver and combat maneuver attempts that he makes with the selected maneuver do not provoke attacks of opportunity. A greensprout rapscallion can select this trick three times. Each time it is selected, choose a different combat maneuver to apply its effects to.

Combat Swipe

A greensprout rapscallion who selects this trick gains Improved StealAPG as a bonus feat. In addition, he ignores the Combat Expertise and Intelligence prerequisites for all combat feats that also list Improved Steal as a prerequisite.

Feat

A greensprout rapscallion who selects this trick gains a bonus feat. A greensprout rapscallion must meet this feat’s prerequisites, if any.

Fleeting Façade (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can spend 1 sprout point as a swift action to become invisible for 1 round, as greater invisibility. A greensprout rapscallion must be at least 6th level before selecting this trick.

Flexible Youth (Ex and Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick gains an insight bonus on Acrobatics and Escape Artist skill checks equal to his level. In addition, the greensprout rapscallion can spend 1 sprout point as a swift action in order to treat one space adjacent to his own as being his space for the purpose of determining his flanking bonuses for 1 round.

Improved Age Swipe (Su)

When a greensprout rapscallion with this trick successfully performs a steal attempt with his age swipe granted ability against a humanoid Youth or a humanoid creature that he has affected with age swipe, he can change that creature’s age category from Youth to Child. This aging effect replaces the previous aging effect, if any, and lasts for age swipe’s entire duration. A greensprout rapscallion must be at least 4th level before selecting this trick.

Innocence (Ex and Sp)

A greensprout rapscallion with this talent can take 10 on Bluff checks to convince others that he is telling the truth, so long as his story makes him appear innocent. In addition, the greensprout rapscallion can cast innocenceAPG as a spell-like ability by spending 1 sprout point as a standard action. The caster level for this effect is equal to the greensprout rapscallion’s binder level.

Greensprout Hop (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can spend 1 sprout point as a swift action to gain the benefits of one of the following feats until the end of his turn: Spring Attack, Shot on the Run, or Fly-By Attack.

Hide and Seek (Ex and Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick gains an insight bonus on Perception and Stealth skill checks equal to his level. In addition, the greensprout rapscallion can spend 1 sprout point as a swift action to gain darkvision out 30 feet for 1 round. If the greensprout rapscallion already possesses darkvision, the distance that he can see using darkvision increases by 30 feet for 1 round instead.

Hide from Adults (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can spend 1 sprout point as a standard action cast hide from adults as a spell-like ability. The greensprout rapscallion, his vestigial companion, and any creatures he targets with this spell-like ability are always considered to be Children for the purpose of determining whether the creatures can detect other creatures under the effect of this spell-like ability regardless of their actual age. Improved Hide and Seek (Su): A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can spend 1 sprout point to cast see invisibility as a spell-like ability. A greensprout rapscallion must possess the hide and seek trick before selecting this trick.

Menagerie of Youth (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this talent can use Tommy Greensprout’s age swipe granted ability against any creature except for nonliving creatures and creatures without discernible anatomies, such as oozes and creatures with the elemental subtype. If used against a creature that doesn’t possess aging categories, that creature gains the young creature simple template instead. A greensprout rapscallion must be at least 6th level before selecting this talent.

Nature Empathy (Ex)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick gains wild empathy, as a druid. At 4th level, the greensprout rapscallion only suffers half the usual penalty to influence the attitude of a magical beast. At 8th level, the greensprout rapscallion suffers no penalty to influence the attitude of a magical beast.

Playful Punch (Ex)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick doesn’t take the usual –4 penalty on attack rolls when dealing nonlethal damage with a weapon that normally deals lethal damage. In addition, a greensprout rapscallion can choose to convert all damage that he deals with supernatural abilities to nonlethal damage.

Precise Swipe (Su)

When a greensprout rapscallion with this trick uses age swipe, he can determine the exact age of his target down to the year for its newly modified age category. For instance, if his target is an Adult human, the greensprout rapscallion can change his target’s age to be as old as 14 years (the maximum age for a human Youth) or as young as 8 years (the minimum age for a human Youth). If he has the improved age swipe trick, he can use subsequent uses of age swipe to adjust his target’s age within its current category, change its current age category between Child and Youth, or both.

Quick Vigor (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can spend 1 sprout point to grant himself a number of temporary hit points equal to double his class level. These hit points stack with other temporary hit points, but not with themselves and last for 10 minutes.

Shades of Youth (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion who selects this trick can alter his pact with Tommy Greensprout as a standard action, temporarily changing which age category he selected with the greensprout pact class feature for a number of minutes per day equal to his prestige class level. These minutes do not need to be consecutive, but they must be spent in 1-minute increments.

Sneak Attack (Ex)

A greensprout rapscallion who selects this trick can make a sneak attack for +1d6 points of damage. This is as the rogue ability of the same name. If the greensprout rapscallion gets a sneak attack bonus from another source, the bonuses on damage stack. A greensprout rapscallion can select this talent a second time at 6th level and a third time at 10th level. Each time this trick is selected, the sneak attack damage increases by +1d6.

Spell Practice

A greensprout rapscallion who selects this trick chooses 1 spellcasting class that he belonged to before taking levels in the prestige class and adds his prestige class level – 1 to his level in that class for the purpose of determining spells per day, spells known (if the chosen class is a spontaneous spellcaster), and his caster level.

Summon Shadow (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick gains the summon shadow ability, as a shadowdancer. A greensprout rapscallion must be at least 6th level before selecting this talent.

Swipe Memories (Su)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can use Tommy Greensprout’s age swipe granted ability to steal the memories of a creature that has been successfully targeted by an aging effect within a number of days equal to the greensprout rapscallion’s level. If the greensprout rapscallion succeeds on a steal combat maneuver check against such a creature using age swipe, he steals all memories that the target has of being older than its current, adjusted age category. A successful Will saving throw negates this effect (DC equals the greensprout rapscallion’s steal combat maneuver result). On a failed saving throw, affected memories are suppressed for as long as the target’s age is adjusted by age swipe; the creature can recall them, but only with great difficulty and questionable clarity. Otherwise, this effect functions as modify memory. A greensprout rapscallion must be at least 8th level before selecting this trick.

Wild Child (Ex)

A greensprout rapscallion with this trick can wield weapons sized for an Adult of his race without penalty, even if he is smaller than an Adult. For example, a human Child can wield weapons sized for Medium creatures without penalty despite being a Small creature. This trick doesn’t make him proficient with such weapons if he isn’t already.

Greensprout Companion

At 3rd level, a greensprout rapscallion gains Tommy Greensprout’s vestigial companion ability without needing to exchange the spirit of childhood granted ability. If the greensprout rapscallion already has a familiar, he must permanently transform it into a sprite, as detailed in the vestigial companion section Pactmaking.

Lingering Age Swipe (Su)

At 3rd level, when a greensprout rapscallion makes a successful steal attempt using Tommy Greensprout’s age swipe granted ability, the greensprout rapscallion can increase the duration of the effect to 1 hour per binder level by taking a –4 penalty on his steal attempt. This penalty decreases to –2 at 5th level and –0 at 7th level.

At 5th level, the greensprout rapscallion can increase the duration of the effect to 1 day per binder level by taking a –4 penalty on his steal attempt. This penalty decreases to –2 at 7th level and –0 at 9th level.

At 7th level, the greensprout rapscallion can increase the duration of the effect to permanent by taking a –4 penalty on his steal attempt. This penalty decreases to –2 at 9th level.

At 9th level, the greensprout rapscallion can increase the duration of the effect to instantaneous by taking a –4 penalty on his steal attempt.

Rapscallion Band

At 5th level, a greensprout rapscallion gains Leadership as a bonus feat. A greensprout rapscallion can only recruit Child or Youth characters and young creatures as cohorts and followers. A greensprout rapscallion doesn’t take any leadership penalties for having a vestigial companion and any leadership bonuses that he adds to his leadership score are doubled as long as he is a Child or Youth.

Sturdy Sproutling (Su)

At 9th level, as long as a greensprout rapscallion possesses at least 1 sprout point in his sprout pool, he ignores his aging penalties to Strength and Constitution from the Youth and Child age categories or from the young creature simple template if he isn’t humanoid.

Greensprout Paragon (Su)

At 10th level, all granted abilities that the greensprout rapscallion receives from Tommy Greensprout are considered extraordinary abilities when determining how they interact with an antimagic field. In addition, the greensprout rapscallion stops aging, never dies of old age, and always has access to Tommy Greensprout’s capstone empowerment; he no longer needs to perform the ritual described by the Permanent Pact feat to obtain it.
