An informant is something of a private investigator, piecing together seemingly disparate pieces of information to discover the true culprit (and then hunt them down).
Trade Tradition
If this is this character’s first level in any class, the informant may select a trade tradition of his choice, and have an adroit trade rank.
This replaces the vigilante’s normal class skills.
Skill Expertise (Ex)
The informant is a Journeyman operative, gaining skill spheres and talents as described in Using Spheres of Guile.
This replaces unshakable, in addition to the vigilante talents granted at 2nd, 8th, and 14th level, and the social talents granted at 5th, 11th, 17th level.
Sleuth
The informant has a keen eye for details, especially if said details were not meant for him to know. When the informant chooses a vigilante specialization, he may choose the sleuth specialization instead:
An informant gains an inspiration pool, as the investigator class feature (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide). An informant uses his vigilante level as his investigator level to determine the effects of this ability (including the amount of uses within his inspiration pool). He can use inspiration on Disguise, Knowledge (local), Perception, and Sense Motive skill checks without spending a use of inspiration (provided he is trained in that skill). The informant’s inspiration pool refreshes each day after 8 hours of rest.
The informant can take investigator talents in place of vigilante talents.
In addition, the informant gains the discerning strike ability (as the agent class feature), treating his agent level as his vigilante level - 3 for determining the damage dealt.
At 2nd level, the informant chooses a single agent conspiracy of his choice. Once this decision is made, it cannot be changed. At 3rd level, the informant gains the web of secrets ability from his chosen conspiracy. At 5th level, the informant gains the coordinated combat ability (with the associated benefit from his conspiracy as well).
This alters vigilante specialization.
Informant Talents
The informant can select from the following vigilante talents, in addition to general vigilante talents. This alters vigilante talents.
Conspirator Training (Ex)
The informant gains a bonus talent from the sphere for their chosen conspiracy, plus an additional talent at 8th level and a third at 16th level.
Ever Watchful (Ex)
The informant gains the Eagle-Eyed and One Eye Open feats (both Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Wilderness) as bonus feats, even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
Unerring Strike (Ex)
Whenever the informant uses inspiration on an attack roll, he treats the value of any miss chance that the attack is subjected to as being half its original value.
