Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A ravage binder gains no new proficiencies with weapons or armor.

Bind Spirit

Levels in the ravage binder prestige class stack with the character’s binder level for all purposes, including binding checks, calculating the effectiveness of granted abilities, and determining the character’s maximum spirit level. If the ravage binder possesses levels of pactmaker, half of the class’s level stacks with pactmaker levels to determine the number of spirits that the character can bind with at once

Disintegrating Eye Ray (Su)

As a standard action, a ravage binder can project a blinding ray from his eyes at an enemy within 100 feet + 10 feet per class level he possesses. If he hits his target with a ranged touch attack, it takes 1d6 points of untyped damage per binder level he possesses. This ability is a death effect. Disintegrating eye ray is treated as a major granted ability belonging to the ravage binder’s ravager spirit for the purpose of determining how it interacts with feats and abilities. After using this ability, it becomes expended for 5 rounds.

Ravage Pact (Su)

At 1st level, a ravage binder gains the ability to seal a pact with a ravager spirit as he would any other spirit. This bond grants the ravage binder Spirit Focus (ravager spirit) and Permanent Pact (ravager spirit) as bonus feats, ignoring their prerequisites.

If the ravage binder dies and isn’t raised from the dead within 1 week, her soul is transformed into a new ravager spirit instead of passing onward into the afterlife, preventing her from ever being raised from the dead except by divine intervention. A ravage binder doesn’t take Charisma drain for being bound to a ravager spirit.

Ravager Aura (Su)

A ravage binder radiates a particularly powerful evil aura, as a cleric of a level equal to the ravage binder’s binder level. In addition, any caster attempting to use detect pact spirits to determine if the ravage binder is bound to a spirit must succeed on a caster level check (1d20 + the caster’s level) against a DC of 11 + the ravage binder’s binder level.

Ravage Talent

At 2nd level and every two levels thereafter, a ravage binder gains a talent that draws upon his experience in being bound to a chaotic ravager spirit. Each talent can only be selected once unless noted otherwise.

Talents marked with an asterisk (*) are treated as alteration secrets, as the pactmaker’s binder secret class feature, for the purpose of determining how they interact with major granted abilities and other alteration secrets. Unlike other alteration secrets, these talents can only modify the disintegrating eye ray granted ability.

Bestow Malady (Sp)

A ravage binder with this talent gains the ability to cast bestow malady† as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. A ravage binder must be at least 4th level before selecting this talent.

Bestow Ravager (Su)

When a ravager binder with this talent casts bestow malady†, a ravager-blighted zone is created when the target of his spell rolls a natural 1 or 2, instead of just a natural 1. A ravage binder must be able to cast bestow malady† before selecting this talent.

Binder Secret

A ravage binder can select a binder secret in place of a ravage talent. His ravage binder levels stack with any pactmaker levels he possesses for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites for binder secrets and determining their benefits.

Command Ravagers (Su)

A ravage binder with this talent can use channel essentia (see next page) to enslave outsiders with the ravager spirit subtype. Using this ability expends two uses of the ravager essentia ability just as a normal use of channel essentia does. Affected creatures receive a Will save to negate the effect, and the DC for this Will save is equal to 10 + the ravage binder’s level + the ravage binder’s Charisma modifier. Creatures that fail their Will save fall under the ravage binder’s control, as if they were undead under the effects of control undead. An affected creature receives a new saving throw each day to resist the ravage binder’s command. A ravage binder can control any number of creatures with this ability, so long as their total Hit Dice do no exceed his binder level. If he uses channel essentia in this way, it has no other effect (it does not heal or harm nearby creatures). If an affected creature is under the control of another creature, the ravage binder must make an opposed Charisma check whenever his orders conflict with the other creature’s orders. A ravage binder must be at least 6th level before selecting this talent.

Commune with Haunt (Sp)

A ravage binder with this talent can cast commune with hauntACG a number of times each day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. Ravage-blighted zones always answer a ravage binder’s questions and never attempt to make a Will save to negate the spell’s effects.

Consume Life (Su)*

When a ravage binder with this talent uses disintegrating eye ray, he can choose to inflict a number of temporary negative levels onto his target equal to 1d4 + half his level instead of dealing hit point damage. For each negative level he inflicts using this ability, the ravage binder gains 5 temporary hit points.

Disintegrating Gaze (Su)*

When a ravage binder with this talent uses his disintegrating eye ray, he can use it as a gaze attack with a range of 30 feet instead of as a ranged touch attack, causing any creature that looks into his eyes for 1 round after the ability is used to take 1d6 points of damage per binder level he possesses. A successful Fortitude save halves the damage. After using this ability, it becomes expended for its duration and for 5 rounds afterwards.

Double Eye Ray (Su)*

When a ravage binder with this talent uses his disintegrating eye ray, he can fire one ray from each of his eyes by taking a –4 penalty on attack rolls made with both rays. Each ray may target a separate creature, but both targets may not be more than 30 feet apart from one another. A ravage binder must be at least 6th level before selecting this talent.

Forceful Possession (Su)

Once per day, when a ravager binder with this feat successfully pins an opponent, he can attempt to force a ravager spirit upon the pinned creature when he successfully maintains his grapple instead of dealing damage. The pinned creature must succeed on a Will save (DC 10 + the ravage binder’s level + the ravage binder’s Charisma modifier) or become bound to a ravager spirit, as if it had been subjected to a ravager-blighted zone. A ravage binder can select this talent multiple times. Each time it is selected, increase the number of times per day that he can use this talent by one, to a maximum of three times per day.

Grappler’s Gaze (Su)*

When a ravage binder with this talent successfully maintains a grapple against an opponent, he can use disintegrating eye ray as a swift action instead of a standard action.

Grappling Ravager

A ravage binder that selects this talent gains one of the following feats as a bonus feat: Greater Grapple, Improved Grapple, Improved Unarmed Strike, or Rapid GrapplerUC. The ravage binder must meet the feat’s prerequisites, if any. A ravage binder can select this talent multiple times. Each time it is selected, he selects a different listed feat as a bonus feat.

Ravager Essentia (Su)

At 2nd level, a ravage binder can draw upon the weird energies of the Spirit Realm to heal wounds or harm foes. He can also use this ability to quickly recharge his ravager spirit’s major granted ability. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to 1/2 his ravage binder level + his Charisma modifier. By expending one use of this ability, a ravage binder can touch a creature that is bound to a ravager spirit to heal it of heal it of 1d6 points of damage, plus an additional 1d6 points of damage for every 3 ravager binder levels he possesses (to a maximum of 3d6 at 8th level). Using this ability is a standard action (unless the ravage binder targets himself, in which case it’s a swift action). Alternatively, the ravage binder can use this ability to harm a creature that isn’t bound to a ravager spirit, dealing the same amount of damage he would otherwise heal with a melee touch attack. Using ravager essentia in this way is a standard action. This ability uses occult energy rather than positive or negative energy to produce its effects.

As a swift action, a ravage binder can expend one use of this ability to reduce the number of rounds that his ravage spirit’s major granted ability is expended for by 1d4 rounds.

Societal Boon

As the ravage binder gains levels, he gains boons from his chosen organization. The nature of these boons varies depending on the ravage binder’s chosen organization. Each organization grants three boons, each more powerful than the last. At 3rd level, the ravage binder gains the first boon. At 6th level, he gains the second boon, and at 9th level, he gains the third boon.

Consult the Societal Obedience feat for details on societal boons. When a societal boon grants a spelllike ability, the ravage binder’s caster level for the spell-like ability equals his total character level. This ability allows a ravage binder to access these boons earlier than with the Societal Obedience feat alone; it does not grant additional uses of the boons once the character reaches the necessary Hit Dice to earn the boons normally.

Channel Essentia (Su)

Starting at 5th level, a ravage binder can release a wave of occult energy by channeling the power of the Spirit Realm through his bound ravager spirit. A ravage binder can channel occult energy to heal creatures with the pact subtype or harm creatures without the pact subtype, functioning like a cleric’s channel energy class feature except the amount of healing or damage done is equal to the amount listed in the ravager essentia ability. Creatures healed by channel essentia gain the benefits of haste for a number of rounds equal to the ravage binder’s level while creatures harmed by channel essentia become confused for a number of rounds equal to the ravage binder’s level. Creatures that take damage from channel essentia receive a Will saving throw (DC 10 + the ravage binder’s level + the ravage binder’s Charisma modifier) to negate the confusion effect and halve the damage. A ravage binder can choose whether or not to include himself in this effect.

Greater Frenzy (Su)

At 7th level, when a ravage binder uses his ravager spirit’s frenzy granted ability, the morale bonus to his Strength and Constitution increases to +6 and the morale bonus on his Will saves increases to +3.

Summon Ravager Horde (Su)

At 10th level, you can infuse the immediate area with occult power as a standard action, which causes ravager spirits to rapidly amass. The area within 10 feet of you transforms into a ravager-blighted zone (see the ravager spirit section of Chapter 9) for 1 minute. Any creature within this area when this ability is used or that ends its turn within this area must make a Will save or become possessed by a ravager spirit, as described by the ravager-blighted zone haunt. Using this ability expends four uses of the ravage binder’s ravager essentia ability.
