Ringmasters care little for fooling others into thinking they are other people, but instead revel in playing different roles; a clown, a death-defying acrobat, a strong man, or more. However, his main goal is not to empower himself, but instead to empower his whole troupe. In the hands of a competent ringmaster, a group of adventurers find their abilities multiplied to heights they never before could have reached.
Personas: A ringmaster gains one fewer personas than a troubadour of equal level, beginning with only one persona at 1st level.
Leader of Men: A ringmaster gains the tactician class power, as a cavalier of equal level. This stacks with any cavalier levels the ringmaster may possess, but does not grant greater tactician or master tactician as the ringmaster gains levels.
This replaces performer’s synergy and master of disguise.
Master of Ceremonies (Su): Beginning at 3rd level, whenever the ringmaster is in a persona, as a standard action, he may choose to grant his trope benefit and persona quirks to an ally within medium range as well as to himself. The same standard action can be used to activate both leader of men and master of ceremonies.
This ally retains the benefits of the trope power for up to 3 rounds +1 per 2 ringmaster levels. Any limited-use abilities or points spent by the ally counts against the ringmaster’s daily total. The effect may be ended early as a free action. At 8th level and every 5 levels thereafter, the ringmaster may affect an additional target when using master of ceremonies.
This ability is usable once per day, +1 per 5 troubadour levels the ringmaster possesses. An ally may only be under the effect of a single use of master of ceremonies at a time, even from multiple ringmasters. As the ringmaster’s personas gains additional tropes (such as through the greater actor and master actor class features), he must choose only one trope at a time to share the benefits of with his allies.
This replaces flexible truth.
Actor Training: The ringmaster gains exclusive access to the following custom actor trainings:
- Trained Monkey: The ringmaster gains a familiar as the wizard class feature, treating half his troubadour levels as wizard levels (minimum 1).
- Greater Tactician (requires ringmaster 10): The ringmaster gains greater tactician, as the cavalier class feature.
- Master Tactician (requires ringmaster 10, greater tactician): The ringmaster gains master tactician, as the cavalier class feature.
