A tactician doesn’t keep their incredible mind to themselves, but instead uses it to help coordinate their allies. They can use their inspiration to benefit the rolls of their allies, as well as improving their attacks with their studied strike and studied combat abilities.
Studious
At 1st level, the tactician gains the Study sphere as a bonus sphere, as well as gaining the Collaborative Understanding talent as a bonus talent.
This replaces trapfinding.
Tactical Inspiration
At 2nd level, the tactician gains shared inspiration as a bonus investigator talent.
At 4th level, whenever an ally the investigator can perceive attempts a weapon attack against an enemy that is his studied target and the subject of his theory, the tactician can spend an immediate action to confer their studied combat’s bonuses to the ally’s attack. If the attack is successful, the tactician can choose to treat that ally’s attack as a studied strike as a free action that is usable outside of his turn (as long as it is not already a studied strike); doing so ends his studied combat against the creature as normal.
The tactician can spend 2 notions from his active theory to use this ability once per round as a free action usable outside of his turn (instead of an immediate action).
This alters inspiration, studied combat, and studied strike, and replaces poison lore and poison resistance.
Keen Study
At 3rd level, the tactician gains established foundations as a bonus investigator talent.
Additionally, whenever the tactician (or one of his allies) uses a breakthrough from his theory, he can spend 1 point of inspiration to have the theory regain an amount of notions equal to half the notions spent on it.
This replaces keen recollection.
Flexible Appraisal
At 4th level, whenever the tactician would expend one use of inspiration to ignore the 24 hour limit when making a creature his studied target, he can instead outwit the creature as a cost or spend 1 notion from his active theory.
This alters studied combat and replaces swift alchemy, but may be replaced by other archetypes.
Battlefield Savant
At 12th level, each specific action associated with the tactician’s active theory can grant one notion twice per round, instead of once per round.
