Even those who rely upon brute strength as their primary weapon may understand the importance of allies and organization to success. Tribal champions embody this, supplementing their physical prowess with social savvy.
Trade Tradition
If this is this character’s first level in any class, the tribal champion may select a trade tradition of their choice, and have a competent trade rank.
This replaces the barbarian’s normal class skills.
Champion’s Tribute (Ex)
A tribal champion commands influence to be invoked in times of trouble. The champion gains the Faction sphere as a bonus sphere at 2nd level, selecting the (retainer) package.
The tribal champion’s retainers always consider providing assistance in combat a reasonable part of their role as long as the champion never abandons them. This does not make them willing to take directly hostile actions, but does include delivering items and taking the aid another action.
Starting at 5th level, as long as the tribal champion is within 10 feet of a retainer, a creature gains no bonus to attack rolls to hit the champion due to flanking, blindness, or the attacker being otherwise unseen.
This replaces uncanny dodge and improved uncanny dodge.
Champion’s Wisdom (Ex)
A tribal champion understands the dangers and risks of diplomacy as well as other barbarians understand the threats of the battlefield. At 3rd level, the champion gains a +1 insight bonus on Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Sense Motive checks as well as a +1 insight bonus to the DC to demoralize her. These bonuses increase by an additional +1 at 6th level and every 3 levels thereafter.
This replaces trap sense or danger sense.
Leader’s Resolve (Ex)
In place of selecting a rage power, a tribal champion may select a single skill talent that she qualifies for.
